Thought that the pyramids only belonged to the Egyptians and the Mayans? Well think again, because a pyramid has been discovered within the region of Portugal. What makes this pyramid unique is that it is the first underwater pyramid. Also, nobody knows who built the structure. It is however, estimated that the pyramid could date back to about 20 000 years. That means that it would have been around during the ice age. Currently, the Portuguese Hydrographic Institute of the Navy are left with the task of analysing the 60 metre tall relic. The base of the pyramid is also measured to be a staggering 80 000 square metres. The Pyramid was discovered by Diocleciano Silva in between the islands of São Miguel and Terceira in the Azores. There have been some thoughts as to whether the structure is manmade or has it been built by another life source.
The pyramid was found in an area of the mid-Atlantic that has been underwater for about 20,000 years. Considering this is around the time of the last ice age where glaciation was melting from its peak 2000 years prior, whatever civilization, human or not, that was around before the ice age, could be responsible for building the pyramid. While the Portuguese Navy still hasn’t determined the origins, many might question why this hasn’t been first reported on sooner than late 2012
The Azores are an interesting region as they are a chain of nine volcanic islands in three main groups that are roughly 930 miles west of Lisbon. They are all situated around the fault lines between the North American, Eurasian and African tectonic plates. An interesting place to have a pyramid given the energetic qualities often associated with pyramids.

The Milgram experiment on obedience to authority figures was a series of social psychology experiments conducted by Yale University psychologist Stanley Milgram. They measured the willingness of study participants to obey an authority figure who instructed them to perform acts conflicting with their personal conscience. Milgram first described his research in 1963 in an article published in the Journal of Abnormal and Social Psychology and later discussed his findings in greater depth in his 1974 book, Obedience to Authority: An Experimental View.
The experiments began in July 1961, three months after the start of the trial of German Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann in Jerusalem. Milgram devised his psychological study to answer the popular question at that particular time: „Could it be that Eichmann and his million accomplices in the Holocaust were just following orders? Could we call them all accomplices?“ The experiments have been repeated many times in the following years with consistent results within differing societies, although not with the same percentages around the globe. The experiments were also controversial and considered by some scientists to be unethical and physically or psychologically abusive.Das Milgram-Experiment ist ein erstmals 1961 in New Haven durchgeführtes psychologisches Experiment, das von dem Psychologen Stanley Milgram entwickelt wurde, um die Bereitschaft durchschnittlicher Personen zu testen, autoritären Anweisungen auch dann Folge zu leisten, wenn sie in direktem Widerspruch zu ihrem Gewissen stehen. Der Versuch bestand darin, dass ein „Lehrer“ — die eigentliche Versuchsperson — einem „Schüler“ (ein Schauspieler) bei Fehlern in der Zusammensetzung von Wortpaaren jeweils einen elektrischen Schlag versetzte.
Ein Versuchsleiter (ebenso ein Schauspieler) gab dazu Anweisungen. Die Intensität des elektrischen Schlages sollte nach jedem Fehler erhöht werden. Diese Anordnung wurde in verschiedenen Variationen durchgeführt.
Das Milgram-Experiment sollte ursprünglich dazu dienen, Verbrechen aus der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus sozialpsychologisch zu erklären….. -
