„Friday’s climate strike in New York City concluded with remarks from indigenous leaders, activists and organizers. Artemisa Xakriabá, a 19-year-old indigenous climate activist of the Xakriabá people, spoke about the increasing intensity of environmental destruction across Brazil and the interconnectedness of the fight for climate justice. “We fight for our Mother Earth because the fight for Mother Earth is the mother of all other fights,” Xakriabá said. “We are fighting for your lives. We are fighting for our lives. We are fighting for our sacred territory. But we are being persecuted, threatened, murdered, only for protecting our own territories. We cannot accept one more drop of indigenous blood spilled.”

AMY GOODMAN: Voices from the Gobal Climate Strike in New York. The protest ended at Battery Park, where 16-year-old Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg addressed the crowd. But first, Artemisa Xakrriabá, a 19-year-old indigenous activist from Brazil, took to the stage.
ARTEMISA XAKRIABÁ: [translated] My name is Artemisa Xakriabá. I am 19 years old, and I am from the Xakriabá people in Brazil. I am here today representing the more than 25 million indigenous and traditional communities from the Global Alliance of Territorial Communities. This alliance is formed by four organizations: APIB from Brazil, COICA from the Amazon Basin, AMPB from Central America and AMAN from Indonesia. Together, we protect 600 million hectares of forest.
But I am also here as a young woman, because there’s no difference between an indigenous young female activist like myself and a young indigenous female activist like Greta. Our future is connected by the same threads of the climate crisis.
The Amazon is on fire. The Amazon agonizes year after year for the responsibility of the government and its destructive policies that intensify deforestation and drought, not only in the Amazon, but in the other five Brazilian biomes. Climate change is a result of this, and it also helps to make the fires stronger. And beyond the Amazon, there are the forests of Indonesia, Africa, North America, whose suffering has such an impact in my life and in your life.
We, the indigenous peoples, are the children of nature, so we fight for our Mother Earth, because the fight for Mother Earth is the mother of all other fights. We are fighting for your lives. We are fighting for our lives. We are fighting for our sacred territory. But we are being persecuted, threatened, murdered, only for protecting our own territories. Ottawa (Kanada) – Aufgrund der Klimakrise will Emma Lim (18) die Jugendlichen auf der ganzen Welt dazu bringen, keine Kinder mehr zu bekommen. Als Druckmittel für Politiker hat sie eine Website erschaffen.

Auf diese Internetseite sollen Jugendliche und junge Erwachsene auf der ganzen Welt zugreifen und virtuell versprechen, dass sie keine Kinder bekommen wollen, solange das Thema Klimawandel nicht von der Politik angegangen wird.
Die 18-jährige Emma Lim stellte dafür am Freitag nicht nur der Öffentlichkeit diese Website vor, sondern erklärte auch, wie sie auf diesen Einfall kam.
„Ich verspreche, keine Kinder zu bekommen, bis ich sicher bin, dass meine Regierung für sie eine sichere Zukunft gewährleisten kann“, soll sie auf einer Pressekonferenz in der kanadischen Stadt Ottawa laut Utopia gesagt haben.
Auf ihrer Website führt sie weiter aus. „Ich möchte Kinder haben, mehr als fast alles andere sogar. Aber was für eine Mutter wäre ich, wenn ich ein Baby in eine Welt setzen würde, wo ich nicht garantieren könnte, dass meine Kleinen sicher sind?“, schrieb sie dort.
„Ich habe letzten September den IPCC-Bericht gelesen – und er hat mich erschreckt. Wir sind in so viel größerer Gefahr, als ich es mir hätte vorstellen können“, erklärt sie weiter. „Wir stehen vor vielen, nicht rückgängig machbaren Veränderungen: dem Verlust von Ökosystemen, dem Verlust von Süßwasser, dem Verlust sauberer Luft.“
Virtuelle Unterschriften sollen Politiker zum Handeln gegen den Klimawandel auffordern
„Ich möchte, dass meine Kinder all die schönen Dinge sehen, die ich sehe. Ich möchte, dass sie mit mir im Meer schwimmen gehen. Ich möchte, dass sie im Sommer campen, und, dass Autofahrer im Herbst die wechselnden Blätter sehen. Ich möchte mit ihnen rodeln gehen. Ich möchte ihnen beibringen, wie man einen Garten baut“, lauten die Wunschvorstellungen der jungen Kanadierin.
Emma Lim möchte also um wirklich jeden Preis sicherstellen, dass es ihren Kindern einmal gut gehen wird. Auch, wenn es ihr das Herz bricht, jetzt dieses Versprechen gegeben zu haben und erst einmal auf lange Sicht keine Kinder zu bekommen, wie sie schreibt. „Aber ich weiß, dass ich nicht allein bin“, erklärt sie.
Am heutigen Freitag ging die Website online und Stand 16.30 Uhr haben bereits mehr als 2000 Menschen unterschrieben. Die Bewegung, die auf Twitter sogar als #NoFutureNoChildren trendete, hat also tatsächlich etwas angestoßen und das Zeug zur nächsten Aktion von Jugendlichen auf dem Niveau von Fridays For Future.
Weltweite Beachtung für Kinderlosen-Bewegung

Ursprünglich wollte Emma Lim mit dieser Website nur die kanadischen Politiker zum Umdenken anstoßen. Durch den Twitter-Hashtag-Trend gibt es nun jedoch weltweite Aufmerksamkeit.
Man kann auf Lims Internetseite auch einige Statements der unterzeichnenden Jugendlichen lesen. Und diese kommen nicht nur aus Kanada und den USA. Es finden sich genauso die Geschichten von jungen Menschen aus Venezuela, Kolumbien, Großbritannien, sowie Frankreich, Schweden oder auch Deutschland.
Jacob Diercks (18) kommt aus Schleswig-Holstein und verewigte sich mit folgenden Worten auf der Seite: „Ich lebe im Norden Deutschlands, direkt an der Nordsee. Vor zehn Jahren war es hier warm, aber nur um die 20 Grad und oft kälter wegen der arktischen Winde“, erinnert er sich.
„Heute sind es im Sommer mehr als 30 Grad und an manchen Tagen ist es extrem kalt. So wie es aussieht, wird es immer schlimmer. Im vergangenen Jahr haben die Bauern bereits 20 Prozent weniger als sonst geerntet. Ich finde es unverantwortlich, Kinder in solche Gefahren zu bringen. Unsere Regierung tut zu wenig, um das Klima und damit auch unsere Region zu schützen. Dort, wo ich wohne, wird alles bald überflutet sein und ich allein kann nichts tun, um diesen Ort für meine Kinder zu retten“, schließt er ab.
Mit dem Versprechen auf ein kinderloses Leben übt nun auch er Druck auf die deutsche Regierung aus.“

Apparently, the fact that cannabis successfully destroys cancer cells is no longer a conspiracy theory in the U.S.
Therefore, can we regard it as a preventative herb against cancer, or can anyone reject the idea of using medicinal cannabis?
According to Amy Willis, to the official cancer advice website, the US government has added a page on the use of cannabis and cannabinoids.
She advises, “The National Cancer Institute, part of the US Department of Health, now advises that ‘cannabinoids may be useful in treating the side effects of cancer and cancer treatment’ by smoking, eating it in baked products, drinking herbal teas or even spraying it under the tongue.”
The site lists numerous medicinal uses of cannabis, such as stress- relief, pain relief, anti-inflammatory and antiviral activity, anti-anxiety, and anti-tumor properties, reduction of muscle spasms due to multiple sclerosis, and much more.
It also explains how lab experiments have shown that cannabis kills cancer cells.
She adds: “Several scientific studies have suggested this in the past, and in April this year the US government’s National Institute on Drug Abuse revised their publications to suggest cannabis could shrink brain tumors by killing off cancer cells.”
Therefore, if this is a sign that the government of the United States would like to admit the anti-cancer properties of cannabis, would the other western nation share their attitude?
Cannabis is an incredibly beneficial herb which can cause no side-effects and can effective treat various severe healthy conditions and diseases, including cancer.
Therefore, it is our duty to support this struggle and attempt to help the numerous people who can greatly benefit from such treatments.
