Why does Vishnu sleep on snakes?
Amusing characterisation.
Of course, the mount of Vishnu is Garuda, the Eagle, the “all-seeing eye”!
Why do we call it the “all-seeing eye”? Why not some other attribute of the Eagle? In the art of the Shilpa, the “essential quality” of a deity is “personified” as the “mount”.
Vishnu represents the omnipresence of the ultimate reality, hence, like that of the Eagle, the “all-seeing eye”!
But Vishnu also represents the “Eternal Essence”, ie, the “Dharma” of the ultimate reality, the Brhm.
What Essence?
The “ETERNAL” Essence.
What animal represents eternity?
