Wireless body area networks (WBANS) are receiving a significant interest as an emerging technology in next generation
wireless networks. Security challenges as well as this interest are also beginning to rise to the surface. We derived specific
security requirements from WBANS, and proposed a new hybrid security protocol for WBANs which satisfies these
requirements. This proposed protocol dealt with the overall security including up to the in-, on-, and out-body, and utilized
‘two heterogeneous cryptosystems (the symmetric and asymmetric) for diverse environments of WBANs. Our protocol
shows that it satisfies more security requirements than existing security protocols including the overall coverage of WBANS.“

Die russische Duma hat ein Gesetz verabschiedet, das vom Präsidenten Putin unterzeichnet wurde, und seit Juli 2001 in Kraft ist. Gegenüber der ursprünglichen Gesetzesvorlage wurden in der endgültigen Fassung Abstriche vorgenommen. Da der in Kraft getretene Gesetzestext bislang nur in russischer Sprache verfügbar ist, bezieht sich die nachfolgende Zusammenfassung auf die Textfassung der Vorlage in englischer Übersetzung:

Im Strafgesetzbuch der Russischen Föderation sollen danach in den Paragraphen 221, 355 – 356 die Anwendung, den illegalen Erwerb, Besitz, Transport, das Mit-Sich-Führen, Verkauf, Übergabe und das In-Verkehr-Bringen von verbotenen elektromagnetischen, Infra- und Ultrasound- und anderen derartigen Sendern, die dazu geeignet sind, Leid zuzufügen, unter Strafe gestellt werden. Gefängnisstrafen von mehreren Monaten bis zu 12 Jahren sind vorgesehen. Auch ist die Weitergabe von Bauanleitungen, Schaltplänen oder anderer Informationen zur Herstellung oder Anwendung dieser Waffen unter Strafandrohung gestellt.

Die Notwendigkeit einer solchen Gesetzgebung wird im Anhang damit begründet, daß der wissenschaftlich-technische Fortschritt sie notwendig gemacht habe. „Die Prozesse in unserer Gesellschaft, die dieser Entwicklung folgen, enden ziemlich oft mit negativen Konsequenzen, weil eine einzige wissenschaftliche Erfindung im Bereich heimlicher Feed-back-Kontrolle (remote control) oder zur Zerstörung menschlichen Materials zu einer grundsätzlich neuen Art von Verbrechen ohne gesetzliche Reglementierung führt.
